An American policeman kills a young man who tried to stab him

An American young man was killed after being shot after trying to assault a California police.

The video, posted by California police and circulated by US media, shows the American officer rushing towards the young man with a knife and instructing him to leave and not move, but the young man did not obey the policeman's orders and pounced on him in an attempt to stab him.

The policeman did not hesitate to shoot the young man before he could stab him, as he fell in the middle of the road without movement, before the ambulance arrived.

New Jersey police had announced that police officers had been shot, in the face of intense gunfire at the Jersey City neighborhood.

According to the "Associated Press," the nearby "Sacred Heart" school has been closed, but all staff and students were safe, according to a statement from the Archdiocese of Newark.

Heavy shooting occurred intermittently at least an hour along a major road, but it calmed down.

"Rapid intervention" teams, state police and federal agents responded and came to the site, and the police closed the area as well as the school, some stores, a supermarket, and a hairdresser.

FBI spokeswoman Patti Hartman said that more than one officer had been shot but could not provide any other information.
