The Qatar World Cup records a rare event after Benzema was injured.

The French national football team announced the exclusion of its striker, Karim Benzema, who was crowned with the “Golden Ball” award, from the list of “Roosters” participating in the World Cup in Qatar due to injury, so that the World Cup in Qatar would be a rare event in the absence of the winner of the Best Player Award for the World Cup.

And a statement by the French national team stated, on Saturday evening, that the exclusion of the Spanish Real Madrid star came “after he injured the quadriceps muscle of his left thigh, so he will be forced to abandon participation in the World Cup.”

According to the French newspaper "L'Equipe", Benzema was seen leaving Aspetar Hospital in Doha yesterday evening, Saturday, and he was not walking in a normal way, and his features appeared sad.

Commenting on the news of his exclusion, Benzema wrote on his official account on the social networking site "Facebook": "I have never given up in my life, but tonight I have to think about the interest of the team as I always do."

He added, “So it was more appropriate to leave my place to another player who is ready, who can help our team to perform well in a cup

His role Didier Deschamps, coach of the French national team, said, after confirming the absence of Karim Benzema, in a statement: “I am very sad for Karim, who made the World Cup his main goal.”

The "Roosters" coach added: "Despite this new blow to the French national team, I have full confidence in the rest of the players, and we will do our best to face the great challenge that lies ahead."

rare event..

For the first time in 44 years, the atmosphere of the World Championship will be missed by the Golden Ball award-winning player, specifically since the 1978 edition, which was missed by Danish Alan Simonsen, who was crowned in 1977.

The Golden Ball holder has been present in every World Cup since 1982, starting with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the former Germany star in the 1982 World Cup, all the way to Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who played the last two World Cups.

Despite Benzema's 34 years of age, he did not participate in the World Cup, except in the 2014 edition in Brazil, and scored 3 goals in 5 matches, before being deposited with France in the quarter-finals at the hands of Germany.

France, the defending champion in the World Cup, relied a lot on Benzema; After excelling with his Spanish club Real Madrid, last year, he won the Golden Ball for the best player in the world.

France plays in Group D, which includes Australia, Denmark and Tunisia.

The roosters will start their tournament next Tuesday, facing Australia in the first round of the group stage.
