Qatar is the first in the Gulf region in the average wealth of individuals with 146 thousand dollars

 The State of Qatar ranked first as the richest Gulf country, in terms of the average wealth of each individual until the end of 2020, according to the Global Wealth Report for the year 2021 issued by the Swiss bank "Credit Suisse".



According to the report, Qatar ranked first in the Gulf with an average wealth of $146.73 thousand per capita, and a total wealth of 352 billion, then Kuwait second with $129.89 thousand, followed by the UAE with an average of $115,476 per capita, and a total wealth of 930 billion.


Bahrain ranked fourth with $87,559 thousand per person, with a total of 115 billion, then Saudi Arabia with $68.697 thousand, with a total wealth of 1.662 trillion dollars, and finally Oman with 39,433 thousand dollars per person, with a total of 148 billion.


The Kuwaiti fortune jumped from 62,064 thousand dollars in 2000 to 129.89 thousand dollars in 2020, a rate of 109.3% during two decades.


While the total wealth in Kuwait amounted to 409 billion dollars, which constituted 0.1% of the total wealth in the world in 2020, at a time when the per capita GDP reached 34,339 thousand dollars.


With an average per capita wealth of approximately $674,000, Credit Suisse ranked Switzerland as the richest country in the world, and the United States ranked second with an average per capita wealth of $505.42 thousand.


Hong Kong ranked third on the list; The wealth of each individual is 503.34 thousand, an increase of 20.5 thousand dollars over Australia, while the Netherlands came in fifth place with an average wealth per capita of 377.09 thousand dollars per adult.


The report measures the average wealth of individuals based on each individual's share of GDP, stock market indices, stock and asset prices, exchange rate, and real estate prices.


Kuwait is among the top 10 countries, along with the UAE and Saudi Arabia, in the decline in the number of millionaires who have a fortune worth more than one million dollars, but the impact of the challenges of the Corona pandemic in 2020 was less harmful to Kuwaiti millionaires compared to their Saudi and Emirati counterparts.


The 12th edition of the World Wealth Report 2021 showed that the number of millionaires in Kuwait decreased from 93,000 in 2019 to 79,000 in 2020.
