Western intelligence reports revealed that the Battle of Idlib, prepared by the Syrian regime, with the support of Russia and Iran, mobilized the remaining "Moroccans" and Moroccans of other nationalities to participate in the last decisive battle of the Syrian regime to resolve the war. They were organized into sleeper cells that managed to sneak into the city of Idlib, besieged by the forces of Bashar al-Assad, coming especially from the Hasaka area in eastern Syria on the border with Iraq.
