Microsoft is trying a new approach to securing its operating system, as it announced the use of a software protection chip instead of using applications.
The company announced the launch of a new protection product called "Pluto", which it presented on the basis that it is a security processor that aims to create a comprehensive encryption system for all Windows devices.
And "Pluto" is a chip that is placed in computers to fill in the protection mechanisms that it carries on any device in which it is installed.
Computer security relies on an encryption system called a "Trusted Platform Module," which manages encryption keys at the hardware level.
Microsoft says that the chip is used in Windows systems for identification by "Windows Hello" or the encryption system "BitLocker".
This chip is placed separately on the motherboard.
Although the protection provided by the cloud and artificial intelligence of the Windows operating system has made the penetration more difficult and expensive for attackers, they are rapidly evolving and moving to new targets.
Therefore, Microsoft says, "We have taken steps to combat these sophisticated cybercriminals and government actors with our partners through innovations such as secure personal computers that provide advanced identity, operating system, and hardware protection.
According to a statement announcing the chip, which was published by Microsoft, that the chip "will bring security technology to the cloud, and more security developments for personal computers running Windows."
