Do you know the benefits of spicy food?

Many people like to eat spicy food and enjoy its taste, but not everyone knows the nutritional benefits of it. What are the benefits of eating hot meals? And does it really help in burning fat, as some believe?

And eating spicy food has multiple benefits, the first of which is aiding in weight loss, according to a study published on the website of the National Library of Medicine in the United States. Scientists have concluded that eating the substance extracted from hot pepper enhances the body's ability to break down and burn fat to obtain more energy, which helps control body weight and lose excess weight.

Spicy food also has the ability to affect the part of the brain responsible for feeling hungry, so that people are more likely to eat less food and feel full faster, compared to eating regular food that is not spicy.

Helping to break down fats and eating less food in turn help improve cardiovascular health, according to the Cleveland Clinic health website.

Researchers at the University of Vermont in the United States also found that people who are accustomed to eating spicy food regularly have a 13 percent lower risk of death, as their rates of death related to cardiovascular disease, such as heart attacks and strokes, are reduced.

Contrary to expectation, spicy dishes can be used to treat pain associated with certain conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, which is caused by obesity. Some also turn to products containing chili peppers to treat pain from fibromyalgia and arthritis, according to the Cleveland Clinic health website.

But the site warns that spicy food cannot achieve the desired benefits if the diet lacks the required balance and contains large amounts of sugar, processed products, or saturated fats.

Not all spicy products have health benefits, as many of them contain high amounts of salt or other ingredients that should not be consumed at high rates. That is why the site, on the other hand, recommends the use of natural hot pepper or powder extracted directly from it without additives.

If a person is not used to eating spicy food before, it is preferable not to eat large quantities suddenly, as this can cause complications, such as diarrhea. While many people get used to eating spicy food gradually over time.
