Saudi Arabia .. 14% growth in car market sales

 The car market in Saudi Arabia achieved a jump in sales by 14.23% on an annual basis, indicating that it has overcome the repercussions of the emerging Corona virus pandemic.



And the Saudi newspaper, Al-Watan, reported, on Sunday, that the car market recorded sales of 291,383 cars in the first half of this year, compared to 254,261 during the corresponding period of 2020.


The newspaper pointed out that the sales of the period exceeded the sales of 11 Arab countries combined during the first half of 2021.


And it quoted a recent report issued by the American “F2M” agency specializing in car market research, that Saudi Arabia accounted for 33.04% of the total sales of Arab countries amounting to 456.243 cars during the second quarter of 2021.


She explained that Toyota ranked first in the list of the best-selling car brands in Saudi Arabia during the first four months of this year (January to the end of April), with 50.9 thousand cars, with a market share of 26.9% of the total vehicle sales in the Kingdom.

The newspaper also quoted the expectations of the Dutch "ING" research institution, which expects a growth of 9% by the end of this year, with 512 thousand and 300 cars.


According to the results of the first half sales, the Saudi market may approach 2015 record levels after the Saudi market achieved the highest rate of car sales over the past 15 years in 2015, selling 830,100 cars, according to data from the International Automobile Manufacturers Association (OICA).


As for the Arab countries, Saudi Arabia came first with a share of 34.1%, ahead of Egypt 15.1% and the UAE 12.3%.


Saudi Arabia’s share of Arab market sales exceeded the share of 11 Arab countries combined, which together accounted for 33.7%, which are: Morocco 10.8%, Kuwait 6.2%, Iraq 4.6%, Oman 4.6%, Tunisia 3.4%, Qatar 2.5%, Jordan 2.1%, and Bahrain 1.6%, Algeria 1.3%, Lebanon 0.7%, and Yemen 0.5%.
