Biden outlines plans for clean energy

US President Joe Biden pledged on Tuesday to combat climate change and defended his plan to improve infrastructure, stressing that his administration has many projects that save lives, homes and the planet.

Biden, on a tour during which he inspected the effects of the devastating fires in the state of Colorado, defended the infrastructure agreement, saying that "the issue is not about a Democratic or Republican state, the fire does not see the line between the two states and disasters will not stop, but we know what to do. We must summon courage. Innovating in the face of crises to save the planet.

He added that the partisan agreement "will create jobs for 800,000 workers, including plumbers and electricians, and the Internet will be faster, and we will save thousands of gallons of gasoline when we use electric cars."

"Every dollar the United States spends to prevent and protect against floods and build advanced turbines saves six dollars, because the next time the disaster comes, there will be flood containment. These investments save lives and homes and create jobs," he added.

He explained that his administration aims to "reduce emissions by at least 50 percent by 2050, and produce carbon-free energy by 2035."

He added that the United States "can do this in a way that creates good jobs, lowers costs for consumers and businesses" and makes the alternative energy sector a "leading industry," noting that there are "countries that are working hard to dominate this field."

He added, "My plan calls for large investments to modernize the research infrastructure. We will make breakthroughs in this technology and this will lead to lower renewable energy prices," calling for "the use of modern energy today, not tomorrow."

He said, "We have transitional projects that can carry enough energy for millions, but they need investment to move to the construction stage," adding, "We need networks that have a larger capacity and the ability to store and use modern batteries so that we can store energy when the sun goes down."

Biden announced that he will bring the factories of the three main companies to produce electric cars, "My plan provides for the largest transition in our history, for example, we will convert to electric buses and establish charging stations."

He stressed that "there are also tests of new batteries, and this technology is not science fiction but is ready for widespread installation in this country by members of the unions and this is what we will do," noting that there is now one in three Americans living in a state transitioning to clean energy. "Let's speed this process up."
