Saudi Arabia .. an agreement to manage and operate the first dry port

 On Thursday, King Salman Energy City (SPARK) and Hutchison Ports signed a partnership agreement to manage and operate the dry port and logistics area in Spark.



In turn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Spark", Muhammad Yahya Al-Qahtani, confirmed that the move will constitute an additional point of attraction for investors in the sector. Hutchison Ports has global experience in managing and operating ports and logistics areas.


He said: "This partnership will provide investors with easy access to local and global markets, and it comes within the framework of the continuous efforts led by Spark to contribute to the IKTVA program by providing the advanced infrastructure needed by investors and manufacturers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."


For his part, Eric Ibe, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Group, stressed that the huge and ambitious project will impose new standards and concepts in the logistics sector.


He stressed the company's commitment to provide all the necessary expertise to create more additional value for investors in Spark and increase its competitiveness.


It is noteworthy that the first phase of King Salman Energy City includes several areas, including the industrial area, the business area, the residential and commercial area, the training area, in addition to the dry port area and logistics services, which is based on an area of ​​3 square kilometers and includes warehouses, the latest storage facilities, and a clearing area Customs.


The project is built on an area of ​​3 square kilometers in accordance with the highest international standards, to help investors access global markets, which provides the opportunity to increase the demand for goods and energy services in the Middle East and beyond, as well as meet the logistics services of neighboring cities and industrial complexes.


The King Salman Energy City (SPARK) is a sustainable global energy hub, an integrated industrial city that is being developed in three phases, covering an area of ​​50 square kilometers in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, with a vision to become the leading gateway for logistics services to the regional energy sector.
