The UAE will invest 13 billion dollars in Britain within 5 years

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's press office said in a statement that the British Investment Office and the UAE's Mubadala Investment Company are expected to sign an agreement to expand the sovereign investment partnership between the two countries.

The statement said the agreement would boost investments across Britain in life sciences, technology, infrastructure and the transition to clean energy.

The Financial Times quoted a government official familiar with the talks as saying that the total pledged by the UAE to invest in Britain over five years would amount to about 10 billion pounds ($13.85 billion).

The statement added that additional investments likely to be announced include an investment of 500 million pounds ($692 million) in British fiber-optic and internet services company "CityFibre".

In March, the Abu Dhabi government's Mubadala Investment Company signed a deal with the United Kingdom to invest £800 million ($1,107 million) in life sciences and healthcare development projects.
