The trade exchange between Qatar and America reaches $2.5 billion

 Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani revealed that the value of trade exchange between his country and the United States of America amounted to about 19.5 billion riyals ($5.4 billion) last year, while it amounted to about 9.1 billion riyals (2.5 billion dollars) during the first half of the year. This makes the United States one of Qatar's most important trading partners.



And the Qatar News Agency reported that the statements of the President of Qatar Chamber came during his meeting today, Wednesday, October 13, with a delegation of members of the US Congress headed by Representative Daryl Issa from California, who is currently visiting the country.


Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani praised the successful Qatari investments in the United States of America, stressing the Qatar Chamber's keenness to enhance cooperation relations between Qatari businessmen and their American counterparts, which would contribute to increasing trade exchange between the two countries, and the Qatari private sector's desire to enhance its investments in the United States.


During the meeting, ways of enhancing trade and investment cooperation relations between the two friendly countries were also discussed, as well as discussing investment opportunities available in both countries and the possibility of cooperation between Qatari and American businessmen in establishing new business alliances, whether in Qatar or in the United States of America.


The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mishaal bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar's ambassador to the United States of America, a number of members of the Qatar Chamber's board of directors, and a number of Qatari businessmen.
