The White House and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced, on Monday, updates to the travel policy in light of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, to enter into force as of next November 8, according to a statement published by the US State Department website.
According to the updates, international travelers to the United States are required to provide proof that they have received a full vaccination against the emerging corona virus before boarding the plane.
Those who received vaccination must undergo a test to detect the Corona virus, which was conducted within a period not exceeding 3 days.
As for unvaccinated travelers, whether they are US citizens or permanent residents, they must present a negative virus detection test that was taken within a period not exceeding one day.
Exceptions to these restrictions are considered "extremely limited", including children under the age of 18 and some individuals in countries where vaccines are not easily accessible, according to the statement.
The statement indicated that international travelers can ensure that they meet the necessary conditions for going and returning, by reviewing the information on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention website.
The statement stated that this policy gives priority to public health, protects citizens and residents of the United States as well as those who come to visit, in addition to promoting economic recovery across the country.
The Corona virus has killed at least 4.9 million people in the world since the World Health Organization office in China reported the outbreak in December 2019.
The United States is the country most affected in terms of deaths, 736,000 deaths, and injuries 45 million injuries, according to Johns Hopkins University figures.
