Saudi Arabia ranked 14th globally and first in the Arab world in the Artificial Intelligence Index

Saudi Arabia ranked 14th globally and first in the Arab world in the Global Artificial Intelligence Index approved by the United Nations, represented by the Advisory Board on Artificial Intelligence, out of 83 countries in the world.

Saudi Arabia continued to lead the world in the government strategy for artificial intelligence criterion, according to the same index, in a move that confirms that the Kingdom is the fastest-advancing country in the world in artificial intelligence, advancing 17 ranks in the index, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Thursday.

Saudi Arabia also achieved seventh place globally in this index in the artificial intelligence trade criterion; which confirms the Kingdom's commitment to adopting and developing the field of artificial intelligence, investing in its technologies, and building national capabilities in this field.

The Global Artificial Intelligence Index, which was launched in 2019, classifies the artificial intelligence landscape through 7 main indicators: government strategy, operating environment, infrastructure, research and development, competencies, and trade, from which 122 criteria branch out, in which 83 countries participate.

This achievement confirms the continuous and ongoing government support that the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) enjoys, ensuring that the Kingdom advances to leadership among economies based on data and artificial intelligence.

SDAIA leads the Saudi national direction for data and artificial intelligence to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The Global AI Index - issued by Tortoise Intelligence, a global company with a global advisory board - includes experts in artificial intelligence from around the world.
