The singer Rachid Taha died

Rachid Taha, an Algerian living in France, is 59 years old. His family said he had a heart attack at his home in Paris.Taha was famous for his style of mixing Algerian rai and western rock. He was also known for his selection and breaking of barriers.Taha had a great influence on French music in the 1980s, with his collection known as the "Card of Residence - Carte de Segur", and was helped by his deep-seated voice and his rebellious image.Taha was born on the northwestern coast of Algeria in 1958 and moved with his family to Lyon at the age of ten.The singer first entered the music world when he opened the Nada in Lyon, Les Refoulés (The Rejects) in the late 1970s.He emerged as the lead singer of the Arabic-language group Carte de Séjour, which combined Western rock music with Algerian music.He is one of the first generation of Algerian immigrants who settled in France with his family in the 1960s. He worked a period in restaurants and factories, until he formed his own band which was played in some small clubs.Rashid Taha tried to present Arab rock with his band in the rhythm of Algerian Rai. And his famous songs "Ya Rayeh" and "Abdul Qadir".It was released in the 1990s by Ole Oleh and Diwan, and was released in 2000 (Made in the City).At the music festival in 2001, the BBC described his music as "a seductive mix of traditional North African music, rock music, and techno."
