International mining companies had forecast that they would be exposed to a shortage of supplies of some of the main industrial minerals, especially nickel, palladium and platinum.

Analysts also expect continued strong demand for palladium from auto companies seeking to use the metal to manufacture components that reduce toxic emissions and polluting the environment.

In light of the expectations of a global economic recovery and the rotation of the wheel of major economies, most notably the US and Chinese economies, minerals such as copper and palladium will witness a recovery in demand and prices this year.

On the other hand, the dollar index rose (against a basket of major currencies) by 13:35 GMT by 0.1% to 91.1 points, and recorded the highest level at 91.2 points and the lowest level at 90.8 points.

In terms of trading, palladium futures for June delivery by 13:37 GMT fell 1.4% to 2775 dollars an ounce, and the highest price was recorded at 2824.5 dollars and the lowest price at 2721.5 dollars.ضضضضض
