The UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, has abolished a policy that required internally-entrants from other emirates in the country to submit a recent negative test result to detect infection with the Corona virus.
Abu Dhabi issued the announcement on Saturday, saying that arrivals from the country's six other emirates can enter the capital from Sunday without undergoing this test.
Oil-rich Abu Dhabi restricted travel for months, even as neighboring Dubai quickly opened its doors to tourists.
Abu Dhabi has also implemented a requirement to disclose the status of the vaccination against Covid-19 for those who wish to enter certain places, a requirement that is more stringent than requirements in other emirates.
The UAE launched a national campaign to vaccinate against Covid, last December, after it licensed the Chinese vaccine, Sinopharma, and the US-German Pfizer / Biontech.
Since then, the UAE has licensed a third vaccine, the British-Swedish AstraZeneca, and then the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine.
The UAE has so far recorded more than 731,000 cases of COVID-19, including 2,071 deaths.
