ALEC BALDWIN AFFAIR: FIRST ELEMENTS OF THE INVESTIGATION REVEAL TROUBLE DETAILS ON THE WESTERN SET
In the aftermath of the fatal accident which cost the life of director of photography Halyna Hutchins, the investigation currently underway has revealed the first details, particularly disturbing, about the working conditions on the set of the western "Rust".
According to information obtained by the American media TMZ, gun safety was a topic regularly discussed on the set of the film in New Mexico. According to a source who worked on the western, blank bullets were fired last weekend, when it never should have been.
Citing court documents prepared by police to obtain a search warrant, the Santa Fe Reporter says the film crew was rehearsing a scene.

The gunsmith would have placed three weapons serving as accessories on a cart, an assistant director giving one of them to Alec Baldwin by saying to him "cold weapon", which means on the sets that the weapon is not loaded.
The assistant director "did not know that there was active ammunition in the accessory", according to the document.
WORKING CONDITIONS IN QUESTION
Another piece of information interested investigators: a few hours before Alec Baldwin's fatal shot, half a dozen members of the film crew protested to complain about their working conditions, particularly overwhelmed by the extended days.
Even more worrying, the security protocol imposed on film productions would not have been fully respected on "Rust". This provided for, in particular, the control of firearms. According to the LA Times, one of the cameramen even pointed out questionable gun safety to a member of the production.
On Twitter, it was a devastated Alec Baldwin who spoke of his "shock" and "sadness", claiming to be in contact with the family of the director of photography. Joel Souza, the film's director, was released from the hospital after also being shot.
