MEGHAN AND HARRY: THE COUPLE WILL HAVE GIVEN UP BAPTIZING LILIBET IN THE UK
Lilibet, the daughter of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, born on June 4, is expected to be baptized in the coming weeks, but the ceremony would not ultimately take place in the United Kingdom, as was initially planned.
Given the strong tensions within the British royal family, the blessing of the couple's second child does not seem easy to implement.
A spokeswoman for Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry said plans for the baptism of the couple's second child were still being finalized, as reported by The Sun on Tuesday, October 12.
A CEREMONY IN LOS ANGELES?
In the Telegraph, experts from the British royal family claimed that the happy parents will not "baptize their daughter, Lilibet, in the UK" and should instead hold "an episcopal ceremony in Los Angeles". The little girl could be baptized by Bishop Michael Curry, who delivered the sermon at the couple's wedding, and who is the head of the episcopal church.
Prince William, Harry's big brother, should be quite happy with this news. According to L'Express, the heir to the throne would not want his niece to be baptized in England. One thing is certain, if the baptism takes place in the United States, it is not certain that the royal family will make the trip. Queen Elizabeth II would therefore probably not be able to attend.
