Qatar Tourism gave a media briefing today, Thursday, to introduce the final preparations for the World Cup, which will start next Sunday, highlighting tourism plans that are the first of their kind in the Gulf country.
The briefing coincided with the start of the influx of visitors to Doha ahead of the launch of the event, which the Qatari government says will be historic and exceptional, and that it will change the West's stereotypical view of Arabs.
Ali Al-Mohannadi, head of the Tourism Monitoring Department at Qatar Tourism, said that the conference aims to introduce the local and international press to the details of the experience that visitors will experience during the 29 days of the World Cup.
