Trump Pledges Golden Age for US, Announces Thrilling Decisions on Mexico, Panama, Immigrants

In his inaugural address, US President Donald Trump called for a “common sense revolution,” promising that “the golden age of the United States begins now.”

“I return to the presidency confident and optimistic that we are at the beginning of a new era of success for our country,” Mr. Trump said after taking the oath of office on Monday inside the Capitol building for his second non-consecutive presidential term.

He stressed that the United States will once again be “greater, stronger, and more exceptional,” adding that “the era of America’s decline is over.”

In order to restore the United States to its glory, the 47th president pledged at the beginning of his second presidential term to sign a series of presidential decrees, covering immigration, the economy, energy, and social issues.

On the international level, Mr. Trump pledged to restore the world to “the spirit of solidarity,” welcoming the ceasefire agreement in the Middle East, which came into effect on Sunday.

Regarding relations with neighboring countries, the new resident of the White House said that the name of the sea between the United States and Mexico will be changed from the “Gulf of Mexico” to the “Gulf of America,” adding that his country will regain ownership of the Panama Canal.

The inauguration ceremony of President Trump was attended by several former US presidents, a number of political figures, and celebrities from the worlds of technology, art, media, and sports.

In view of the polar cold wave that the US federal capital is witnessing, the inauguration ceremony was moved inside the Capitol building, for the first time in 40 years.

In another speech he delivered to a crowd that included in particular his supporters, who gathered inside the Constitutional Hall in the Capitol building, Donald Trump reiterated the priority of the immigration issue, adding that the influx of illegal immigrants is more important than inflation.

He stressed: “I think the people who come to our country from prisons and mental hospitals are a bigger problem for the people I know. I have made it my number one issue.”

The United States will "take back" the Panama Canal.

US President Donald Trump stressed during his inauguration speech on Monday that the United States will "take back" the Panama Canal.

Trump again pointed out that China has taken control of this vital waterway.

Trump explained, "We did not give it (the canal) to China, we gave it to Panama... and we will take it back."

It was not surprising that Trump demanded in his first speech after returning to the presidency to "take back control of the Panama Canal," as he considers it "a vital national asset of the United States."

The Republican president had threatened weeks ago that if Panama did not manage the canal in an acceptable manner, he would demand that the US ally hand it over and return it to US sovereignty.

In a post on his social networking site (Truth Social), Trump also warned that he would not allow the canal to fall into the "wrong hands," in what appeared to be a warning of potential Chinese influence on the important waterway.

Trump said that the Panama Canal is considered a vital national asset of the United States, due to its crucial role in the US economy and national security.

The United States is the canal’s primary user, with more than 70 percent of transits to or from U.S. ports, he noted.

Trump’s pledges appear to be linked to concerns about China’s growing influence in global trade and strategic infrastructure.

Beijing has significantly increased its presence in Latin America over the past two decades, through investments in ports, infrastructure projects and trade agreements, and a Hong Kong-based company operates the two main ports on either side of the Panama Canal, Balbo on the Pacific side and Cristobal on the Atlantic side.

The United States took responsibility for building the canal at the beginning of the 20th century, under former President Theodore Roosevelt, and managed the area surrounding the passage for decades.

However, after decades of tensions, the administration of Democratic President Jimmy Carter signed two treaties in 1977 with Panama’s then-de facto ruler Omar Torrijos, transferring control of the vital shipping lane to Panama.

Under the terms of the treaties, Panama gained control of the canal in 1999, while the United States retained the right to defend it from any threat.

Trump introduces his own currency before inauguration

A new cryptocurrency named after Donald Trump has soared to record highs, raising questions about the president-elect’s inauguration plans.

On Saturday, Trump announced his own meme coin, $TRUMP, on his Truth social media platform, sparking a massive buying spree.

So-called meme coins are based on popular enthusiasm around a popular figure, movement or phenomenon on the internet, and have no economic or transactional value.

Within hours, the coin’s value rose from less than $10 on Saturday morning to $74.59 before giving up some of its massive rally on Monday.

In total, its total value reached more than $10 billion on Monday, according to the latest data from Reuters.

The incoming first lady, Melania Trump, also launched her own cryptocurrency, also named $MELANIA.

On Sunday, its market value soared to more than $1 billion.

Meanwhile, the price of bitcoin hit a record high of more than $109,000 on Monday, hours before his inauguration.

CIC Digital, a Trump company, and another company called Fight, Fight, Fight, own four-fifths of the Trump Coin.

The company says the coins are "an expression of support and engagement with the ideals and beliefs embodied by the $TRUMP token, not an investment."

Liverpool are on the verge of qualifying

Liverpool are on the verge of qualifying directly to the round of 16 of the Champions League, after beating host Girona 1-0 on Tuesday evening, in the sixth round of the first round.

With this victory, Liverpool's tally rises to 18 points from 6 consecutive victories, while Girona's tally remains 3 points in 30th place out of 36 teams.

Liverpool threatened their host's goal early in the fifth minute, when defender Joe Gomez headed a corner kick, only for goalkeeper Gazzaniga to clear the ball with his fingertips.

The ball reached Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez inside Girona's penalty area, but the goalkeeper cleared his one-on-one with him in the seventh minute.

The first chance for the home team came in the twelfth minute, when Daley Blind failed to follow up on Gutierrez's cross, and the ball reached Francis, whose ball was saved by goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who returned from injury.

The pace of the match slowed down a bit in the second quarter of an hour, before Girona striker Danjuma woke up the crowd with a shot that rebounded off Gomez and went out for a corner kick that did not bear fruit in the 31st minute.

Goalkeeper Alisson intervened again to protect his goal in the 38th minute, when he acrobatically blocked a shot from the edge of the penalty area by Espria.

Danguma returned to his mischief in the 41st minute, when he directed a shot that went wide of Liverpool's goal, to end the first half in a goalless draw.

The second half started quickly, as Alisson blocked another attempt by Danjuma, and Gazzaniga denied Liverpool an opening goal in the 59th minute, when he brilliantly blocked a close attempt by left-back Andy Robertson.

With the help of video technology, the referee awarded a penalty kick to the visiting team, after Colombian winger Luis Diaz was obstructed by Donny van de Beek, and Salah successfully executed the kick in the 61st minute.

Cody Gakpo entered the Liverpool lineup instead of Nunez, and Girona made a number of substitutions, most notably the entry of Uruguayan striker Cristhian Stuani.

The performance tended to calm down in the last quarter of an hour of the match, and the referee awarded a free kick in favor of Liverpool, which was executed by right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold over the human wall, but the goalkeeper cleared the danger in the 83rd minute, and the minutes passed without anything new.

Black Friday is a highly anticipated shopping

Black Friday is a highly anticipated shopping event that offers incredible deals and discounts. However, it is also a prime time for scammers to take advantage of unsuspecting shoppers. To ensure a safe shopping experience, follow these five essential tips to protect yourself from fraud:

  1. Shop on Trusted Websites
Stick to well-known and reputable retailers. If you’re shopping on a new or unfamiliar site, check for reviews and ensure the website has secure payment methods. Look for the padlock symbol in the address bar and ensure the URL starts with "https."

  2. Beware of Deals That Seem Too Good to Be True If an offer appears outrageously low-priced, it’s likely a scam. Scammers often use fake ads or websites to lure customers with unrealistic discounts. Compare prices on trusted platforms to verify the legitimacy of the deal.

  3. Avoid Public Wi-Fi When Shopping Online Public Wi-Fi networks are often unsecured, making them a favorite target for cybercriminals. If you must shop online while on the go, use a secure VPN or wait until you’re on a private, password-protected network.

  4. Use Credit Cards for Online Purchases Credit cards offer better fraud protection compared to debit cards. If unauthorized transactions occur, you can dispute the charges more easily. Additionally, consider using virtual credit cards or payment services like PayPal for an added layer of security.

  5. Stay Alert for Phishing Emails and Messages During Black Friday, phishing attempts increase. Be cautious of unsolicited emails or messages offering incredible deals. Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown sources. Instead, visit the retailer’s website directly by typing the URL into your browser.

By following these precautions, you can enjoy Black Friday shopping without falling victim to scams. Always prioritize your online safety and remain vigilant while hunting for deals.

First European country to challenge ICC ruling

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office confirmed Saturday that he had received an invitation from his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban to visit his country.

Orban said on Friday that he had invited Netanyahu to visit Hungary, but several other European countries have said he would be detained if he set foot there, after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for him over the Israeli war in Gaza.

"We have no choice but to defy this decision," Orban, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, said in an interview with state radio.

On Friday, Orban announced that he would invite Netanyahu to Hungary in defiance of the ICC arrest warrant.

"Later today, I will invite Netanyahu to come to Hungary, where I can guarantee that the ICC decision will have no effect," he added.

"Later today, I will invite Netanyahu to come to Hungary, where I can guarantee that the ICC decision will have no effect," he added.

The Hungarian prime minister's call comes despite his country being among the countries that have ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

The International Criminal Court announced on Thursday that it had issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu, former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and Hamas leader Mohammed Deif, who is designated a terrorist organization in the United States.
