US President Joe Biden confirmed, on Wednesday, that his administration is working to solve the problems of global supply chain bottlenecks, while revealing, in a video speech, a number of measures taken in this direction.
Biden said, "The Port of Los Angeles announced that it will start operating around the clock," adding that "American companies have committed to increasing the number of transport trucks."
"We are working to solve the problem of the port of Long Beach to secure the arrival of goods," the president added, pledging to take "all necessary measures to strengthen the supply chain."
Biden also called on companies to help "meet environmental protection goals."
Ports suffer from stifling congestion, amid a severe shortage of chips, and a decline in the number of truck drivers, according to CNN.
Global agency Moody's warns that supply chain disruptions "will get worse before they get better", as consumer prices are expected to rise, amid a slowdown in the economic recovery.
She added that higher costs and prices will affect the growth of the gross domestic product in the world.
Bottlenecks in supply chains may mean an increase in inflation due to high production prices and an increase in demand for goods, amid a crisis in shipping, which means that many countries are affected by these crises.
Economists have warned that the turmoil of the supply chain crisis may continue to drive increased producer prices, which will drive huge increases in consumer prices.
