Raheem Sterling admits he wants to leave The Citizen

The English international, Raheem Sterling, expressed his openness to move from his club, Manchester City, despite his association with the heavenly team for two additional years, according to what was reported by the newspaper “The Guardian”.

Speaking for the first time about his future, Sterling said that his focus is currently on getting more minutes of play and providing better levels with his club, after he remained confined to the bench.

The Three Lions star has been struggling to get time to play with the Citizens since last spring. He started only two matches in the English Premier League this season.

Sterling, 26, has less than two years left on his City contract but discussions over an extension have stalled as the club were willing to let him leave last summer.

The England star said: "If there was an option to go elsewhere to play more matches, I would be open to that... As an English player all I know is the Premier League and I've always been thinking about learning to play abroad one day, and see how I'm going to face this." the challenge".

He added: "If football for me is not at a certain level, then I am not really at my happiest. If I want my happiness at a certain level, I need to play football. I need to score goals and enjoy myself."

Sterling's statements represent an explicit recognition of his desire to leave Manchester City, in light of several media reports linking his name to Barcelona.
