SORA IS FINALLY HERE

The last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been announced, and it's not Waluigi.

Nintendo, during a live event, announced that Kingdom Hearts' Sora will join the roster as the 82nd playable character (if we don't count Echo Fighters). Check out the trailer below.

Sora joins the prestigious company of characters from all famous Nintendo titles and beyond, including Jin Kazuya, Sephiroth, a few Belmonts, and far too many Fire Emblem characters. Prior to Smash's live stream, the internet was on fire with speculation as to who the new character would be. Master Chief of Halo Infinite was one of the early favorites, as was Goku from Dragonball Z.

Waluigi, however, was one of the more popular guesses as fans have been clamoring for his addition for years. As there will be no more characters added to Smash, this dream is dying now and with it the hopes of its many fans.

Smash Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai has said this character will be the last fighter added to the game. In a tweet, the famous Nintendo personality also revealed that this will be his last fighter debut.

Sakurai often joked during presentations that working on Smash was tiring and wondering if he would ever get a break. With Sora as the final character in Smash Ultimate, Mr. Sakurai can finally get a well-deserved rest.
