Qatar International Travel and Tourism Exhibition kicks off

 The activities of Qatar International Travel and Tourism 2021, in its first edition, kicked off today, Tuesday, with the participation of about 150 international companies from 34 countries, and will last for 3 days.



The exhibition was opened by Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, President of the Qatar Tourism Authority, in addition to representatives from various travel and tourism sectors from inside and outside Qatar, and a number of ambassadors accredited to Doha. According to the official news agency "Qena".


On the sidelines of the exhibition, organized by NEXT, in partnership with the Qatar Tourism Authority, a conference will be held that will review visions related to the future of the tourism and travel sector, with the participation of experts and officials in the relevant sectors.


A panel discussion for CEOs will also be held that will highlight consumer behavioral changes and employee recruitment and retention in the travel, tourism and hospitality sector.


The conference will feature prominent speakers, including Nigel Vail, President and CEO of the World Tourism Organization for Culture and Heritage, Philippe Francois, President of the World Association for Education and Training in Hospitality and Tourism, and Christina Ortega, President and Director of Operations, World Leisure Organization.


The events also include a program to host buyers, with the participation of specialists from several countries; Including Britain, Germany, Russia, France, Malaysia, Turkey, Sweden, Denmark and the United States, with the aim of communicating, establishing trade relations and concluding deals.


The exhibition is expected to attract more than 7,000 visitors over its three days, providing the opportunity to network with representatives of international tourism boards, local and regional tourism companies, airlines, tour operators, hospitality operators and travel agents.


The exhibition also allocated pavilions for health service providers, halal tourism, decision makers, corporate travel, investors, academics, travel technology providers, operators of meetings, events, conferences and exhibitions, cultural and educational bodies, entertainment and families.
