Russia supplies oil to the United States

A report by the "Bloomberg" economic agency stated that Russia ranked second in the list of oil suppliers to the United States, after Canada, while Saudi Arabia came fourth.

According to official data, supplies of crude oil and refined petroleum products from Russia to the United States increased by 23% in May, compared to last April, to 844,000 barrels per day.

Thus, Russia eliminated Mexico to third place, after data showed that exports of oil and its products rose from Mexico to the United States by 3% in May 2021, compared to the previous month.

According to the report, Russia imported 844,000 barrels per day to the United States in May 2021, while Mexico imported 728,000 barrels per day, while Saudi Arabia ranked fourth with 395,000 barrels per day.

The data also showed that Canada accounts for nearly half of the US's imports, supplying almost five times more than Russia.

On the reason for the increase in oil supplies from Russia to the United States, the report indicated that oil supplies from Russia to the United States increased after Washington imposed sanctions on Venezuela, especially on the oil sector in Venezuela, where oil supplies from Venezuela to the United States were banned.

And the month of August 2020 witnessed the lowest level of Saudi oil exports to America, after the United States imported only 264,000 barrels per day of Saudi crude, according to estimates by the commodity research company Clipper Data, which is about 50% less than the average imports in 2019, which is Lowest amount of Saudi oil exports to the United States since 1985.
