CHRISTMAS 2021: THE BEST CHAMPAGNES TO TASTE

If there is ever an opportunity to uncork a bottle of champagne, it's the holiday season. Because if the whole world is crazy about sparkling wines from France, the French are also fond of fine bubbles. Here are some exceptional vintages to serve to delight your guests.

  • GOSSET

This 100% Chardonnay champagne fits in an original size bottle. Very floral both on the palate and on the nose, it offers a lot of sweetness to the palate. Its fine bubbles give an impression of lightness.

  • ALFRED GRATIEN

This is the star cuvée of the house of Alfred Gratien. Produced by cellar master Nicolas Jaeger, it concentrates five consecutive vintages. A powerful and very fresh wine available only in magnum.

  • LAURENT-PERRIER

Laurent Perrier’s rosé bottles are always small works of art. This year, it was the butterfly that inspired the designer. A shiny outfit that remains reusable thanks to a clasp. It hides one of the most successful rosé champagnes from great houses.

  • WIDOW CLICQUOT

Designed as a tribute to Madame Clicquot, this exceptional cuvée has been hailed several times as a great success. This is again a wine that highlights Pinot Noir (90%). There are notes of dried apricot and hazelnut. And above all an explosion of freshness on the palate. For Christmas, Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama brought his signature touch: polka dots adorn the bottle.

  • TAITTINGER

Vintage champagnes offer experiences that are a bit out of the ordinary. This is the case with this 2014 from Taittinger. After sleeping in the cellar for 5 years, it exhales white flowers and has a good length in the mouth.

  • MUMM

The Mumm champagne house is launching its new vintage, Mumm Brut Millésimé 2015, which offers excellent value for money. From a sunny year, this champagne is powerful with toasted notes on the finish.

  • OF SAINT-GALL

Could the Pinot Noir grape be the trend at the end of the year? Many are the houses to put it forward. This is the case of the De Saint-Gall cooperative, which presents its So Dark cuvée made mainly with pinot noir from the slopes of the Montagne de Reims and appreciable for nice toasted notes.

  • TELMONT

Here is a classic and efficient champagne which presents a beautiful balance. It is fruity and very fresh with floral notes. It will be tasted very fresh.
