100 classic cars for sale at a Saudi festival

Yesterday, Thursday, during the launch of the Sixth Diriyah Classic Car Festival in Saudi Arabia, a group of exotic and rare boats with special specifications was shown, with local, Gulf and international participation.

The Saudi newspaper, Al-Watan, quoted the head of the organizing committee of the Diriyah Classic Car Festival, Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Masari, as saying that the new sixth edition of the festival “has come out of the local cloak, and has become one of the international festivals,” noting that it includes several participations from all countries. Gulf countries, in addition to foreign countries such as Italy and Switzerland.

Al-Masari explained that there are approved criteria for selecting cars to participate in the festival, and they are fixed criteria, including "the age of the car, but it is not the main criterion, as rare and exotic cars are also selected, as the car must be older than 1979."

He added, "There are more than 100 cars that will be sold through the auction that will take place during the festival."

In addition, the exhibitions located in the region allow visitors to inspect weapons with the latest technologies, and view various displays of weapons of major international companies.

The award-winning cars are selected over a period of 3 days, by the festival's organizing committee, which used 44 judges to manage the events.

According to the Saudi newspaper, Al-Watan, the organizing committee worked to localize arbitration at the festival, after only 12 foreign, 32 Arab, Gulf and Saudi referees attended, and the highest percentage of them were from the Kingdom.

The mechanism for evaluating the participation was determined on 36 car categories, which will be distributed to 3 judges, whose average evaluation is calculated, to determine the first places and then distribute the rest of the scores up to the tenth place.
