IS DRINKING LEMON JUICE AT YOUNG PEOPLE REALLY GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH?

Lemon juice has many virtues and is regularly recommended by nutritionists, but be careful not to drink too much on an empty stomach.

It is established that its acidity can indeed increase the sensation of heartburn in people who are sensitive to it. If you experience heartburn when you consume lemon juice for breakfast, talk to your doctor. The latter may recommend that you avoid consuming it, due to the pronounced acidic pH of this citrus fruit. Preferably dilute it in water, rather than consuming it pure.

AN EFFECT ON THE ENAMEL OF THE TEETH

Another point to watch out for: tooth enamel. A study published in 2005 in the scientific journal Science Daily, had classified cirton among the foods that could have an impact on dental erosion.

Lemon, like some industrial sweetened drinks, has the effect of increasing acid attacks that accelerate the deterioration of enamel, reports the Academy of General Dentistry of Canada and the United States. It is not recommended to drink it, but as with any food, it should be consumed in moderation. If you regularly consume lemon juice and a problem arises due to weakened enamel, do not hesitate to speak with your dentist.

RECOGNIZED VIRTUES

A natural source of vitamins C and rich in anti-oxidants, lemon juice is not a bad companion for the body. It is also often wiser to consume it mixed in a glass of water. Thanks to its vitamin C contribution, this drink will help boost the immune system.

For people who do not suffer from acid attacks or a weakened digestive system, consuming lemon water stimulates digestion and in particular the secretion of bile in the liver, and also facilitates intestinal transit. It helps fight against diarrhea and it is advisable to drink it during the day if you are a victim of gastroenteritis. Finally, the citric acid contained in lemon juice helps reduce the formation of kidney stones.
